Hull striker Sagbo loaned to Wolves

Championship side Wolves have signed Ivory Coast international Yannick Sagbo on a three-month loan from Hull City.

The 26-year-old Marseille-born striker, who is available for Wednesday’s home game with Huddersfield, is scheduled to stay with Wolves until January.

Sagbo scored four goals for the Tigers last season following his

£1.6m move from French Ligue 1 side Evian.

But £10m record signing Abel Hernandez and Nikica Jelavic have been preferred by manager Steve Bruce this term.

Sagbo, who is yet to feature in the Premier League this season, featured for Hull in the Europa League and the club’s

League Cup third-round defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

“We saw that game against West Brom last week,” said Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett. “We were looking for someone who was ready to play now and Yannick is fit and ready.

“He made a good fist of the Premier League last year at Hull. Now they have gone in a different direction but he has a lot of power and ability and we believe he will link very well with our other forwards.”

Wolves, promoted as League One champions in May, currently lie third in the Championship.
